I felt it was time for another entry.
Actually, it all started out when I heard one of my favourite writers was publishing a new book. One that a friend of mine particularly liked.
It took me over a year to finally read it myself- those "Hunger Games", that are oh-so-well-written and addicting.
I had to force myself to finish it, it was pure agony in the end.
Yes, I heard people say the violence was too much for children and juveniles, but I do not have a problem with that. If you can't handle it, then just stop reading.
In my opinion, almost all of the characters are flat and nobody you can feel for- I found myself praying for somebody to kill Katniss in the end, just to make her STOP pitying herself. It's just annoying to read about somebody so dumb and egoistic, without any positive character traits.
However, that'd be okay if there was somebody else, or maybe a villain with a great background and character. But there isn't. They're all sorted into categories ("Here you have the good guys, there the bad ones...")
I hate it even now and I feel bad for the writer's skills. I loved the Underland Chronicles and I will not stop to love them now- however, "Panem" will probably always be that overrated book it is now. I understand the Harry Potter hype, I really do, even though I did not like the books that much and never finished them. But "Hunger Games" was just stupid.
Next task will be to get Battle Royale, the book this nice author stole the ideas from. I hope it does not disappoint me.
